We held a seminar for Taiwanese startups in Taipei.

On June 1, 2023, we co-hosted a seminar with the Taiwan-based accelerator IAPS.

The seminar, which targeted Taiwanese startups considering entering the Japanese market and local VCs, was a very active session with over 50 participants.

"Japanese VC Insights on Investing in Overseas Deep Tech Startups"

Tomohiro Otsuki, Incubation Manager, KSP Inc.

Since 1998, he worked at CSK Venture Capital, investing in a U.S. server software company and early development of Kakaku.com. From 2001, he worked as a journalist (reporter for Nikkei Electronics), moved to Taiwan in 2010 as an analyst (contracted for strategy consulting and research analysis guidance for manufacturers), and joined the well-established incubator KSP in April 2020. He handles investments and cultivation in electronic materials, robotics, pharmaceuticals, and more. Fluent in Japanese, Chinese, and English.

"Roadmap to Cross-Border IPO on Tokyo Stock Exchange"

Ayaka Sasaki, Overseas Securities Agent Planning, Corporate Market Division, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation

Graduated from Ritsumeikan University with a Bachelor's degree in International Relations. Joined Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation (MUTB) after graduation. Currently supports listings of foreign companies interested in cross-border IPOs on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Japanese companies managed by foreign nationals.

Chiamin Lai, Managing Partner, UB Ventures

After graduating from International Christian University, he joined the major ERP vendor Intentia, working on DX and business reform projects in Japan and Europe. He then moved to the U.S. strategy consulting firm Monitor Group as a management strategy planner and Asia expansion project leader, before joining DCM Ventures. As a venture capitalist, he was responsible for investments in freee, Coubic, etc. He joined the Chinese startup Happy Elements in 2014, serving as CSO, Japan listing manager, and then as a director and representative in Japan, overseeing content and xR business development in Japan and China. He completed his MBA at IE Business School.
